Science Fiction & Adventure

Dimension X was an anthology science-fiction series, originally aired from 1950-1951. This program dealt with more "adult" oriented themes like death, religion and science, war, politics and the moral issues of human being in regards to their place in the universe. Many the episodes were adapted from stories by the prominent science fiction writers of the era, for example, Kurt Vonnegut and Ray Bradbury.
X Minus One (1955-1958) was an American science fiction radio drama adapting stories from leading authors of the era. These iconic authors included Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Philip K. Dick, Robert A. Heinlein, Frederik Pohl and Theodore Sturgeon. Staff writers Ernest Kinoy, George Lefferts and others created original scripts. X Minus One has been described as one of the finest American radio dramas and one of the greatest science fiction series in any medium.
Escape (1947-1954) was radio's leading anthology series of high-adventure radio dramas. It brought together all of the important aspects of a truly great old time radio drama. Each episode opened with: "Tired of the everyday grind? Ever dream of a life of romantic adventure? Want to get away from it all? We offer you ... ESCAPE!". Most of the plots involved a protagonist in a life-or-death situation. Escape featured many science fiction and supernatural themed stories. The series ran for 230 episodes.

Bold Venture (1951-1952) starred real-life husband and wife, Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. It ran only one season, but it was and is still popular among old-time radio enthusiasts. Bold Venture masterfully balanced fast-paced adventure with light-hearted banter and romance between the leads. Slate and Sailor (Bogart and Bacall) always faced danger and encountered many shady characters, such as pirates, smugglers and gangsters. With their sharp wit, they kept themselves alive and solved the mysteries against the tropical backdrop of Cuba and the Caribbean Sea.
